About
Patrick Hahe currently works full-time for Speed51.com as the site’s Technology Coordinator and eSports Manager. He can be seen around the country covering some of the biggest short track races in the country. Patrick joined the Speed51 crew in December 2015 following three years of covering the Northeast Ohio asphalt racing scene.
Patrick created NEO Racing News in 2013 and travelled Northeast Ohio for three years. Primary coverage featured the Main Event Racing Series, the region’s most prominent touring series, and local asphalt short tracks like Barbeton Speedway, Midvale Speedway, Lake County Speedway, Sandusky Speedway, and Lorain County Speedway. Coverage included live Twitter updates, Facebook posts, photo galleries, and over 600 ride-along videos on YouTube.
Prior to starting NEO Racing News, Patrick assisted the Northern Ohio Legends in 2011 and 2012 with keeping their website up to date. The US Legend Car division ran exclusively at Barberton Speedway before its closure, and are attempting to return to action now that the track is back open again.
Patrick graduated from Marietta College (Marietta, OH) in 2011 with a BA in Broadcasting and a minor in Journalism. Hahe also earned a certificate in Leadership Studies from the McDonough Center for Leadership and Business while at Marietta. While at Marietta, Patrick served in several student leadership positions within the Media Studies department, managing the College’s TV station (WCMO-TV) and both of the college’s radio stations (88.3 WMRT-FM and 98.5 WCMO-FM) during his four years.
While at Marietta, Patrick joined Lambda Chi Alpha’s Kappa Alpha Zeta chapter and served as the chapter’s External VP, Alumni Officer, and Ritualist. Patrick was also active in Interfraternity Council, serving as the VP of Recruitment and Events for several years. Hahe was honored as Fraternity Man of the Year alongside Blake Johnson in 2011 (Terry Plant and Jennifer Kuhn were honored as Sorority Women of the year).
During his time at Marietta, Patrick developed Writing on the Mall, a blog that covered campus events and news. The blog became a go-to for students looking for everything from TV channel line-ups to coverage of news events on and around campus. Writing on the Mall operated from 2007 to 2011, when Patrick graduated.
Patrick is an avid video game fan, spending nights with college friends and his sister. Favorites include racing simulator iRacing, Destiny, League of Legends, Rocket League, and the Forza Horizon series. Hahe has been able to attend multiple PAX conventions, including PAX East, South, and West. He hopes to attend PAX Australia in the future. Via the PAX Conventions, Patrick trades Pinny Arcade pins, very similar to Disney Pin trading.
